Branded video

Definition

A branded video is a listing or marketing video that carries the agent's or brokerage's identity: a logo, headshot, name, phone number, website and brand colors, usually with an intro and an outro that includes a call to action.

It's the version you post on social media, send to your database, put on your website and run in ads. Branded and unbranded videos usually go together.

The unbranded version goes into the MLS, where most rules prohibit advertising inside listing media. The branded version does the marketing everywhere else. Sellers notice branded videos too: seeing a polished video of their home on your Instagram is strong evidence that you're actively promoting it.

What makes a branded video work

  • A short intro, two or three seconds, with the address or "Just Listed," not a long logo animation.
  • Consistent brand elements: the same logo placement, fonts and colors on every video.
  • An outro with one clear next step: call, DM, book a showing or visit the open house.
  • Contact details large enough to read on a phone.
  • Music that suits your brand and is properly licensed.

Common mistakes include burying the property under graphics, changing your style every time, and uploading the branded version to the MLS by accident. Clear file names, like "123-Main-branded" and "123-Main-MLS," help avoid that last one.
