How V1 Photos includes video in all its shoots
For years, V1 sent clients antiquated Ken Burns-style videos. Now all of its shoots come with a modern AI property video, and a branded upgrade agents can buy.

“We used to do the Ken Burns pans, but they were boring and outdated. The videos looked old.”

V1 Real Estate Photography and Video shoots homes across about 80% of Colorado from its base in the Denver metro area. It runs about 30 photographers there and about 15 more in South Florida. Agents in two big markets count on V1 to make their listings look their best.
Video was the weak spot. V1 had built its own video tool years earlier, and the tool had not kept up.
“We already had our in-house solution that was very antiquated,” says Frank Gepfrick, co-owner of V1. “It's probably like 5 or 6 years old. All it did was basically Ken Burns type effects. The videos looked old.”
For a media company, old-looking video is a real cost. Every video V1 delivers carries its name to agents and their sellers. A dated slideshow makes the whole package look dated, no matter how good the photos are. So Frank and his team started to look at other video offerings.
The strategy
So Frank set up AutoReel to:
- Include an AI property video with most photo shoots, starting at a set minimum package price
- Deliver that video unbranded, as a free teaser of what video can do for the listing
- Upsell agents to a branded video that uses the full set of AutoReel features
The impact
Video is now part of the standard V1 package, not a dated add-on. Every client who books at or above V1's minimum package price gets a modern property video with their photos.
“We're giving them basically a teaser,” Frank says. “Non-branded video for free, and encouraging them to upgrade to the more sophisticated version, utilizing all the bells and whistles that AutoReel provides.”
The free video does two jobs. It puts better video on more listings. It also opens an upgrade conversation on every one of those shoots, because the branded version, with the full feature set, is what V1 sells on top.
“We now include it in every shoot... I would recommend you guys to any other company.”
